Al-Muizz Li Din Allah Fatimid Street, the largest open museum in the world
Al-Moez Street is the largest open
museum in the world, and is considered one of the most important historical
streets in Cairo, due to its Important Islamic archaeological sites between the
Fatimid and Mamluk eras, and it is also considered the largest Islamic open
museum in the world, besides it is an open artistic and creative center due to
the festivals and artistic and cultural activities. It is one of the oldest
streets in historical Cairo.
The street includes many monuments,
some of them dating back to the Fatimid era, including those dating back to the
Ayyubid and Mamluk eras, in addition to that, the street also includes
monuments from the Circassian, Ottoman, and then Muhammad Ali times, including
“Bab al-Futuh, the tomb of Sidi al-Zuq, and
Mosque of al-Hakim, Zawyet Abu al-Khair al-Kulibati, Mosque and Sabil
and Kitab Sulayman Agha al-Silahdar, the house of Mustafa Jaafar al-Selahdar, شl-Aqmar Mosque, Sabil and the book of Abdul Rahman Kankhda, Prince
Bashtak Palace, Hammam Inal, the Kamiliyya School, Sabil Muhammad Ali, Mosque
and School of al-Zahir Barquq, Sultan Muhammad bin Group Qalawun, the school
and dome of Najm al-Din Ayyub, Sabil Khusraw Pasha, Sabil and the Book of
Sheikh Al-Mutahhar, Al-Ashraf Barsbay Mosque, and School, Sultan Al-Ghoury Group,
Al-Muayyad Mosque, Agency and Sabil Nafisa Al-Bayda, Bab Zuweila.
Al-Muizz Li Din Allah Al-Fatimid street extends from Bab Al-Futuh through Al-Nahhasin District, then Khan
Al-Khalili, then Al-Saghah Street, then it is crossed by Jawhar Al-Qaid Street
(Al-Musky), then Al-Azhar Street crosses it through Al-Ghuria and Al-Fahmeen
areas, then Al-Midaq and Al-Sukkariya Alley and ends at Bab Zuweila.
