The Egyptian Consulate in Jeddah Celebrates Egypt’s 73rd National Day in a Grand Patriotic Atmosphere

In a spirited atmosphere filled with pride and patriotism, the Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Jeddah commemorated the 73rd anniversary of the glorious July 23 Revolution with an official ceremony held at the InterContinental Hotel, Jeddah.

Leading the reception of distinguished guests was H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Abdel Meguid, Consul General of Egypt in Jeddah, accompanied by his spouse. Also in attendance were Dr. Said Yehia, President of the Egyptian Union in Saudi Arabia, esteemed consuls, diplomats, members of the Egyptian Consulate, and prominent figures from the Egyptian community. The event was further graced by notable Saudi dignitaries from both official and public sectors.

Heading the official Saudi delegation were Prince Saud bin Jalawi Al Saud, Governor of Jeddah, and Ambassador Fareed bin Saad Al-Shahri, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Western Region. The celebration witnessed the presence of a distinguished gathering of Saudi royals, senior officials, public figures, business leaders, and media representatives. Also present were members of the foreign diplomatic corps accredited in Jeddah—highlighting the historical bond and strategic depth between the two brotherly nations.

In his keynote address, Ambassador Ahmed Abdel Meguid emphasized the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, stating:

“The relationship between our two brotherly nations is not only strong but essential. The close cooperation we share remains a cornerstone for regional stability—especially amidst the current challenges which demand continuous coordination and unity.”

The Ambassador also expressed his pride in the Egyptian community residing in Saudi Arabia, commending their positive role in strengthening bilateral relations and their valued contributions across various fields of work within the Kingdom.

The occasion served as a reaffirmation of the historical significance of the July 23 Revolution in the hearts of Egyptians, and as a reflection of Arab solidarity. The evening featured soulful patriotic musical performances, with the venue elegantly illuminated in the colors of the Egyptian flag, creating a truly memorable and heartfelt Egyptian night.

Guests from diverse backgrounds praised the warm hospitality and depth of the national spirit conveyed throughout the celebration.

The event generated wide engagement across social media platforms, with attendees sharing photos and videos capturing the highlights of the evening—expressing the affection and unity that bring together Egyptians, Saudis, and friends from around the world.
