The occasion was attended by a distinguished group of Saudi businesswomen and notable personalities, including Dr. Maha Gamal El-Din, Dr. Atika Mulla, and renowned photographer Susan Iskandar, alongside members of the Pakistani community, notably Amna Nadeem.

In her address, Ms. Khadija Malik emphasized that Pakistan’s independence was achieved through the great sacrifices and efforts of previous generations. She stressed that safeguarding the achievements of independence and contributing to the nation’s development is a shared responsibility.

She noted that Independence Day is not merely an occasion for celebration, but carries a deeper meaning, one of renewing commitment to the nation, strengthening the values of unity and responsibility, and working toward a prosperous future.

During the event, Dr. Rua Meera delivered a speech highlighting the longstanding and close relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, emphasizing the enduring bonds and strong cooperation between the two countries and their peoples.

She also addressed the importance of citizens’ participation in the process of nation-building and development, as well as the need to strengthen national unity, solidarity, tolerance, and the rule of law as fundamental pillars of stable and prosperous societies.

The guests expressed their appreciation to Ms. Khadija Malik, commending her continued efforts and cooperation in organizing annual national events and conferences, as well as her role in strengthening communication between the Saudi and Pakistani communities.

The celebration featured several commemorative activities, including the playing of Pakistan’s national anthem, a ceremonial cake-cutting, and a dinner reception, bringing guests together in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.

The event concluded with messages emphasizing that commemorating independence goes beyond remembering a historic milestone. It is also an opportunity to renew pride in national identity, honor the sacrifices of previous generations, and look toward a future founded on development, unity, and peace.

The celebration of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Anniversary also reflected the strength of Saudi-Pakistani relations, built over decades of cooperation, friendship, and close ties between the two nations and their peoples.
