Russia launches a unified electronic visa

The Russian official news agency stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already signed a law that allows for a unified electronic visa that allows foreigners to visit Russia once a year for a specific period without an invitation.

The new visa will be a separate category along with official, diplomatic, standard, transit and temporary resident visas, and the visa is scheduled to be valid for a period not exceeding 60 days, and its holders will be allowed to reside only 16 days in the territory of Russia

The Russian government statement added that the issuance of this visa will be via the Internet, and it can be received and printed four days after applying for it.

Foreign citizens will be able to take advantage of the new visa, starting from the beginning of next year, to visit Russia for tourism purposes and to participate in scientific, cultural, political, social, economic and sports activities.

Foreigners will be allowed to enter and exit Russia through border checkpoints determined by the Russian government
