Russia launches a unified electronic visa
The Russian official news agency stated
that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already signed a law that allows for
a unified electronic visa that allows foreigners to visit Russia once a year
for a specific period without an invitation.
The new visa will be a separate category
along with official, diplomatic, standard, transit and temporary resident
visas, and the visa is scheduled to be valid for a period not exceeding 60
days, and its holders will be allowed to reside only 16 days in the territory
of Russia
The Russian government statement added that
the issuance of this visa will be via the Internet, and it can be received and
printed four days after applying for it.
Foreign citizens will be able to take
advantage of the new visa, starting from the beginning of next year, to visit
Russia for tourism purposes and to participate in scientific, cultural,
political, social, economic and sports activities.
Foreigners will be allowed to enter and
exit Russia through border checkpoints determined by the Russian government
