Uber to provide free trips in Saudi Arabia, as a part of its largest MEA-wide partnership with Mastercard

In line with its global commitment to “Move What Matters” and to supporting communities across the Middle East and Africa, Uber in partnership with Mastercard and Al Nahda, a Saudi NGO dedicated to empowering women, will be facilitating free rides to select beneficiaries across the Kingdom for the next two months.

The strategic partnership between Mastercard and Uber spans across Middle East & Africa and is the largest partnership for Uber in the region, aiming to support members of the community based on specific needs and initiatives. initially started in the UAE by offering free transport from the airport for residents arriving home. Further initiatives are being rolled out across the region, each one tailor-made to the specific country and consumer needs.

Uber is utilizing its technology and making available its wide network of drivers to ensure cities have a reliable and efficient way of getting around. The technology company has shared relevant health information with drivers to ensure they are well-informed in COVID-19 related safety protocols and have been provided with masks and sanitizer reimbursements.

Mastercard is helping people around the world navigate these challenging times. While ensuring that its network remains secure, resilient, and reliable. Mastercard is also applying its technology, philanthropy, and data science expertise to rebuild communities and ensure that economic growth is inclusive. As millions of people across the world come together in their communities, Mastercard is extending its support to help those who help others.
