The Saudi Airlines Shipping Company announced the addition of the Shanghai terminal within its scheduled flights, starting last Saturday, corresponding to August 15, with two flights in the first week.

The first flight departs on Saturday from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, while the second takes off on Tuesday of every week from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, by a Boeing 777 cargo plane capable of carrying a load of up to 95 tons

The company stated that the addition of the Shanghai terminal comes as a result of the increased demand for shipping, according to reports issued since mid-March, as the company transported more than two million kilograms of medical supplies necessary to confront the Corona epidemic through charter flights that are requested by the company's customers.

The CEO of Saudi Airlines Shipping Company, Omar bin Talal Hariri, confirmed that many practical solutions have been put in place to ensure the continued flow of necessary shipments to the Kingdom using charter flights that did not stop despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic earlier, as the company operated 29 flights. The unscheduled shipping from Shanghai International Airport to the Kingdom is a response to the growing demand for freight

He continued, “Thankfully, Saudi Shipping has been able to achieve high levels of flexibility and speed in responding to the increasing demand for freight during the suspension period witnessed by aviation by strengthening the services of charter flights or the so-called transboundary, indicating that the company’s team is working continuously to study markets and demand rates, which it helps in making decisions about the shipping network”
